Google Alert

Searching through the internet for intimate images that are shared without your consent can cause great anxiety and distress for victim-survivors of image-based sexual abuse. You may use Google Alert to enter keywords related to the image, you will receive an email notification when Google found a mention of the keyword in its search results.

  1. You will ned a Google Account to use Google Alert

  2. Visit https://www.google.com/alerts

  3. On the top field, enter the keywords (e.g. name, social media handle, nickname, or anything that you think can be used to search for your intimate images)

  4. Click 'Show options', to select language, how often/how many result do you want to receive, etc

  5. Click 'Create Alert' to complete, when Google found a mention of the keyword in its search results, you will receive an email notice.

If you have received a notice and found your intimate images have been distributed online without your consent, you may take a screenshot of the page where the content has been published and record down details such as URLs and its upload date & time, etc. We can help you make a removal request through Ta-DA (Take-Down Assistance).
